Thoughts before WHV Part 2
Bureaucracy and organisation:
I decided to register very spontaneously. And many questions only arose gradually as I went along. To give you a little support, here are some important questions.
My passport expires before I want to fly. What can I do?
Get a new one. It's done pretty quickly. And then you can start your preparations without any problems. I consulted with the organisation that manages the website about this. And that's how the whole thing got rolling for me. So, if you're not sure, ask them.
What if I make mistakes during the application process?
Write to the organisation on their registration website https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship.html. And tell them what you want to change. I can also recommend the WHV group on Facebook for this. They respond very quickly. And I think they are now familiar with all the situations that can arise. Where is the nearest visa centre?
In Austria, it's in Vienna. I applied at the beginning of the month and got an appointment very quickly. In Germany, the centres are in Düsseldorf and Berlin. I can't say how quickly it goes there, as I don't know. I'm more familiar with the situation in Austria.
With an organisation or on your own?
In 2019, I considered going with an organisation, but now I wouldn't consider it again. It costs a lot of money, which you could definitely use for other things. And you learn a lot about life when you organise things yourself. Things you may not have dealt with before.
What do you think?
