Chicks!
On my last day in Whitehorse, I spent hours paddling a canoe on the Takhini River, and it was incredibly beautiful, even without much birdsong. The day before, I visited a desert for the second time, in Carcross, which is also the northernmost desert you can travel to. Saying goodbye to the Yukon was really hard because I absolutely loved the region. Now, though, I'm happy to finally see green meadows and lots of birdsong again, something I haven't experienced since the first farm. I have to admit, I really missed it. The temperatures are also consistently above 15 degrees Celsius again. And the region I'm in now is incredibly flat, comparable to Burgenland, although Burgenland has more hills. Today we got chicks. And I've now cared for over 600 chicks during their first days of life, because chicks have arrived at all three farms since the beginning of May.
Animals on the farm: cows, chickens, and turkeys.
Highlights of the week:
Carcross Desert
Takhini River canoeing
