Books? Part 2

3. Oh (weia) Canada

This book gives a pretty good insight into what Canadians are like. The author emigrated to Canada for a while, which is how she gained most of her experience with them. She describes various everyday situations quite well. She explains everything that was needed to have a house in Canada. She also touches on the differences between Canada and Germany a few times.

4. My Log Cabin in Canada.

I've had this book for over 6 years. I really like it because it describes the Canadian wilderness. You also learn about the animals that lived near her cabin. She is quite an expert in this area, as she is a biologist. And what it's like to be on your own for several months. She describes very honestly what it's like to be completely on your own for several months – in a country where you've hardly spent any time before. What also sticks in my mind is that she needed the permission of a tribal elder of the indigenous people to carry out this project in the first place. Because the cabin was on their land. I also find it inspiring that, apart from her and her husband, no one really believed she could actually do it.

Part 3 will come next Friday!
