Uprooted!
How am I doing? Since it started snowing in early April at my next station in the Yukon, I had to look for an additional farm due to the changed situation. For the first two weeks of May, this kept me very busy, as I received more than 17 rejections and only one single farm had space for me. In the end, I did find a farm, and now I’m flying from Kamloops up to Whitehorse.
This week I went hiking on Bluenose Mountain with my WWOOF colleagues. I also transplanted rhubarb, covered beds with cardboard and wood chips, and did a lot of weeding. I should also mention that this farm works with the no-dig method.
Takeaways for future WWOOFers:
Bring a work jacket and shoes you don’t care about, but are comfortable. You will need them.
