Helpful Websites? Part 1

The next series highlights helpful apps and websites that I want to rely on during my work and travel trip. Since I will be traveling without a car, I need to plan even better than usual – especially when it comes to accommodation, transport, and jobs.

Accommodation

Booking.com and Hostelworld.com:

These are my favorites. They cover the whole range – from hostels to hotels and bed & breakfasts. There is something for every taste and every budget, and you can still stay flexible.

Couchsurfing:

To be honest, I still have some respect for this platform. I don’t really know who you end up staying with, and I have never tried it myself. That’s exactly why I want to form my own opinion at some point. In my circle, opinions about it differ quite a lot – which isn’t exactly the best advertisement.

Airbnb:

I have already used Airbnb at two Olympic Games and one World Championship and never had any problems with fraud or anything like that. That’s why it feels like the best option for longer stays. Thanks to a friend for the tip.

Public Transport & Travel

Busbud.com

A comparison platform for bus companies in Canada that travel between the major cities. It will definitely be one of the most important tools for me.

Kiwi.com

Also a comparison platform for flights. I have never used it myself, but an acquaintance of mine has had good experiences with it. That’s why I want to try it and form my own opinion.

Air Canada

The largest airline in Canada. I will certainly check this website quite often because it simply has the most extensive flight offer in the country.

Hitchr:

An app for hitchhiking. I still need to read into it myself, but I find the idea exciting and would like to try it at least once.

Which other app should I use? Do you have any recommendations? Let me know in the comments! I'd love to hear from you!
